When we process and integrate pain,
we transform.

Only then, do we discover our hidden strength, hope, and meaning

About

About Me

One day during a session, my client stated, "I'm everywhere but nowhere." Such a statement is very profound since going through the journey of emotional healing can be difficult, scary, and even confusing. Many of us have tried to numb, avoid, and make various attempts to escape from our past memories and existing emotion.

Healing is possible, and your journey can start here.

Hello, I am an Indonesian-born mental health therapist, specializing in working with trauma survivors. I came to the US in 1989 and, later, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling. I have worked in the mental health field since 1999 and provided services to individuals with various mental health issues, including substance abuse, bipolar, depression, anxiety, and more. For several years, I have performed individual therapy for children, teens, and adults, group therapy, and family therapy.

In 2019, I developed a private practice, called Healing Gateway, LLC, that provides individual psychotherapy to teens and adults with a history of various forms of trauma. My interest in working with trauma survivors started in 2009, and I have undergone multiple training for trauma-focus treatment, including sand play, trauma-focus CBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and crisis-oriented treatment. In providing the services, I specialize in providing trauma-focus treatment to individuals with various racial/ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, and more.

My Personal Statements

My curiosity about understanding emotion, behavior, and mind has led to where I am right now. My work has been influenced by my training, my colleagues, and my mentors throughout the year. But most importantly, the interaction with my clients has given me valuable lessons in gaining a deeper understanding of resilience and perseverance......

Quote

"The conflict between the will to deny horrible events and the will to proclaim them out loud is the central dialectic of psychological trauma."                                                                             ~Judith Herman
